Doris Kearns Goodwin

Doris Kearns Goodwin is a Pulitzer Prize–winning presidential historian, #1 New York Times bestselling author, and one of the nation’s most trusted voices on leadership, history, and democracy. She is the author of nine acclaimed books, including Team of Rivals, The Bully Pulpit, No Ordinary Time, and her most recent work, An Unfinished Love Story: A Personal History of the 1960s, an instant #1 New York Times bestseller published in 2024.

Her career began as a White House Fellow working with President Lyndon Johnson, inspiring her first bestseller. In addition to her writing, Goodwin executive produced her first documentary miniseries, “Washington” for the History Channel through her independent production company, Pastimes Productions Inc. She has served as a consultant and has been interviewed for numerous documentaries for PBS, HISTORY, and HBO.

Her distinguished career has been recognized with numerous awards for her books and career, including the inaugural American History Book Prize from the New-York Historical Society, the Gold Medal for biography from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and most recently the Washington Irving Medal for Literary Excellence from the Saint Nicholas Society of the City of New York for An Unfinished Love Story.

Goodwin holds degrees from Colby College and Harvard University. She has three sons, four grandchildren, and lives in Boston.
